Jackson Pollock is the type of artist you would see throwing and dripping the paint on the canvas today (if he were alive). But in his earlier period he actually painted instead of flinging and dripping. Jackson Pollock was one of a kind because when he flung and dripped, he had no idea what he was doing, just doing. One of his most famous paintings was Blue Poles (the painting below), and think that all he did was fling paint.
